History

Prototyp Ltd was founded in 1996 in Sofia, Bulgaria. Its first project was a patented glazing system for the "Auto Benda showroom" in Vienna. Since then Prototyp Ltd has specialized in custom made products for the construction industry.

In 2003 Prototyp Ltd extended its activities to engineering of glass-steel-aluminum constructions. Today Prototyp's Engineering department is among the largest providers of cladding and curtain wall engineering services in Europe.

In 2006, Prototyp Ltd started its own workshop for specialized mechanical constructions. In the same year the Austrian company GIG  Fassadenbau GmbH acquired shares in Prototyp Ltd.  GIG Fassadenbau GmbH is part of the Austrian Internorm GmbH group of Companies –    Euprope's largest window manufacturer.
